Day 1 arrival Jorhat - Majuli
After arriving at Jorhat airport, drive to Nimati Ghat (1hr). Catch the afternoon ferry across the wide Brahmaputrariver to MAJULI, the biggest river island in the world and a well preserved spot for Assamese and tribal culture. Enjoy the sunset scene on the banks of Brahmaputra.
Day 2 Majuli
Visit few of the old Assamese monasteries where monks learn a unique form of art, drama, music and Neo-Vaishnavite philosophy. Interact with the monks and learn more about Assam’s culture. Visit a mask making center where extremely elaborate traditional masks are made by the monks for the Bhaona (dance dramas). Also visit Salmara potter’s village, unique on the island and observe the practice of traditional pottery without the use of potter’s wheel! Later, visit a village of the Mishing tribe, the inhabitants of the island. Experience their ethnic cuisine and try the local brew, Apong.Day 3 Majuli - Ziro
After an early breakfast, catch the morning ferry across Subansiri river and leave for ZIRO (8hrs) in Arunachal Pradesh. Ziro is an upcoming travel destination and has recently become popular for photographing the indigenous Apatani people, who are well known for their tattoos and nose plugs. Experience an authentic rural stay with an Apatani family.Day 4 Ziro
Visit the homes and villages of the Apatani people, one of the most fascinating tribes of northeastern India. Learn about their customs and lifestyle. Later walk down to the rice paddy fields which are carved in terraced fields all over a valley. Explore through the pine and bamboo plantations, visit the local markets in Hapoli and also enjoy the scenic landscape of Ziro valley from the viewpoints.Day 6 Daporijo
Go on a full day tour around Daporijo. Visit the beautiful emerald Subansiri River and the quaint villages which fill the landscape here. There are also a few caves around. Visit few villages of the Tagin Tribe and get to know about their unique tribal culture and traditional lifestyle. There are also a few picnic spots located at breathtaking locations; picnic lunch can be arranged there upon prior request.Day 7 Daporijo - Along
Start early and drive to ALONG (8hrs), the headquarters of West Siang District. En route you will be visiting villages of the Galo tribe. If time permits, you will also get to walk in a traditional hanging bridge made of cane and bamboo, a beautiful example of sustainable architecture.Day 8 Along - Pashigat
Explore a few more Galo villages nearby. Then, drive downhill towards PASIGHAT (6hrs), located beside the Siang River (Brahmaputra) at the foothills of the eastern Himalayas in East Siang District and is the land of numerous communities of the Adi Tribe. Travel along the Siang River and its scenic valleys.Day 10 Dibrugarh
Drive to the Dibrugarh airport as per your flight schedule.Tour ends.
